When it comes to smartphones, Indian market is the favourite playing field for all tech-giants. From Samsung and Apple to the latest entrants from China, every smartphone maker understands the value of swaying the Indian market with tempting budget focused phones. We already have seen the likes of Xiaomi and Lenovo. But now it is time to talk about someone new and as impressive as our favourite players!
Meizu, the Chinese counterpart of Xiaomi and Lenovo is a bit late, but has got the perfect kick-start to make it big on the long run. The company unleashed some of “m” series smartphones, and is now making headlines with new M3 Note, which is pitting straight against Xiaomi’s biggest success Redmi Note 3.
Though it is too early to choose sides, Xiaomi’s reputation and Meizu’s perseverance is giving all of us a head start for choosing куда сходить в Самаре the best smartphone of 2016. Here’s how these two pit against each other!
Design and Build Quality
With some minor tweaks, Meizu M3 Note and Redmi Note 3 both feature a sleek and sassy profile with alluring aesthetics. Both metal beauties, despite housing a big screen, give a firm grip and fit nicely in one hand.
The M3 Note, at the first place, looks inspired by the iPhone 6s. It gives reminiscence for Apple’s latest flagship and flaunts an aluminium exterior, curved edges, and a single front-facing button with a fingerprint scanner mixed with it. The back panel with soft-touch finish and antenna lines looks extremely premium, at least for a price under 10k.
Even Redmi Note 3 incorporates a metal body with curved edges. The device looks good, but features a fingerprint scanner on the back instead of the front panel. It flaunts the same Redmi Note look with a clean antenna free back, but is slightly heavier and thicker than M3 Note. We like its overall look and feel, but M3 Note with a sturdy aluminium body is still our first love!
Display and Visual Experience
Much like every other phone in this price bracket, Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3 Note also incorporate a full-HD IPS panel. Both phones, with a screen size of 5.5-inches, feature 403 pixels per inch and manage vibrant, vivid, and crisp visuals. They create an ideal ecosystem for gaming and binge watching, and deliver picture-perfect output with adequate brightness and visibility under sunlight. The colour accent of the screen is pretty much impressive on both phones but they both have their own plus sides.
The beautiful Meizu m3 Note comes with an added display mode which allows you to modify colour-accents of the screen, while Redmi Note 3 has an edge with adaptive display which adjusts brightness automatically according to available lighting conditions, whether under broad sunlight or in a dark room with no light at all. Reading becomes easier with Note 3’s adaptive display capabilities.
Internals and Performance
If you’re looking performance, no other smartphone makes a better package than the heavily equipped Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3 Note. They both incorporate mind-boggling internals and deliver slick and lag-free performance, just as we see on heavily priced flagships.
Though from different families, the chipsets on Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3 Note deliver seamless performance and handle all major processes quite easily. Redmi, with a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC, and Meizu with eight cores of Helio P10, make a terrific package for on-the-go gamers and performance lovers. They both pair up with 2/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of inbuilt storage, and make an exciting package for non-stop work and play.
Clearly, no matter which one you choose, the lag-impervious package bundled with both phones will live up to your expectations.
Software Experience
The UI on Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3 Note is highly customizable, and is capable of creating an ideal ecosystem with a slew of features and colourful app icons. Both phones run on the top of Android 5.1 Lollipop and deliver slick and snag-free performance with quick app loading and limited amount of bloatware. The skins, MIUI and Flyme OS, make a strong impression, but we still wait to give a word on Flyme OS. MIUI 7 is super-fast and has featured on previous Mi phones, but Flyme OS is still in its early days, and will have to improve a lot to take on MIUI and other custom skins including Lenovo’s Vibe and Samsung’s TouchWiz.
Camera
When it comes to image processing capabilities, no doubt Redmi Note 3 has a better camera. The mind-blowing Xiaomi phablet ships with a 16-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection auto-focus, and dual-tone flash. It captures 1080p videos at 30fps, and clearly outperforms M3 Note, which ships with a mixed bag 13-megapixel snapper bundled with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. They both produce good shots, but images from Redmi Note 3 were found to be more detailed and colour-rich. So clearly, it has a better camera setup on offer.
As for selfie-freaks, the 5-megapixel front-facing snapper does the job nicely on both phones. It delivers vibrant wide angle shots with rich colours and adequate contrast levels.
Battery Backup
Just like display, the battery backup is also pretty much same on Redmi Note 3 and Meizu m3 Note. Both beauties slip in with a 4100 mAh and 4050 mAh non-removable battery, and offer just around two days of charge with frequent calling, gaming, social networking and multi-tasking. We like how Xiaomi and Meizu have managed to retain a sleek profile with big batteries, but it is important to note that Redmi Note 3 still makes a better package with added support for fast charging. A single 15-minute charge on Redmi Note 3 will give you three to four hours of usage without any snafus!
Summing things up, we can say, the face-off is close and both phone make a complete value for money package. For an extra INR 2k as per 91mobiles, Redmi Note 3 gives you a better processor and camera, while for a slightly lower price, Meizu m3 Note gives you a value for money package, but with a MediaTek processor and a little less impressive main camera.
If you’re running on a tight budget, M3 Note should be your pick else, Redmi Note 3 is the favourite for all of us!
